The Great Western Railway Company are promoting, and Swansea Corporation are supporting, a bill for the 'Great Western Railway (Swansea North Dock Abandonment) Bill'. The act will authorise the Great Western Railway Company to abandon the North Dock at Swansea, and authorise the Corporation to acquire certain lands and carry out certain works (called work no 5) for the widening of Harbour Trust Road, Swansea. In order to prevent opposition by the Swansea Improvements and Tramways Company, the Corporation have agreed that the company will not be put to any expense in consequence of the carry out of work no 5, provided they pay the Corporation a rent for the portion of the tramway in Harbour Trust Road which is to be doubled |
